About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

MARKED has held the purpose of aiming to give every student an equal opportunity to learn about themselves and develop skills for life. Indeed, there is a large gap between what is being taught in most schools and homes and the skills youths need to face daily challenges. MARKED is the solution to bridging this gap by a solution that gives the opportunity to grow and to act like a changemaker.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

To drive positive change, we offer transformative programs, MARKED with Purpose and MARKED Educator, tailored for young people and professionals working with them. MARKED with Purpose is a 12-week experiential learning journey integrating evidence-based strategies and methods, providing comprehensive implementation packages for schools and youth organizations. Materials include lesson instructions, learning videos, and tips for educators, facilitating engagement in learning sessions. Participants take an active role in addressing important issues, culminating in a community impact project. This helps them discover how their strengths and skills can lead to a purposeful life. They also have access to the MARKED mobile app and upon successfully completing the program, each participant will be awarded an official MARKED with Purpose certificate. The Global MARKED Educator program empowers educators to inspire young individuals for a bright future by promoting inclusion and participation.

How has it been spreading?

Since 2022, we have been honored to collaborate with numerous Finnish schools, cities and EU-projects that want to empower young people and share the vision of their important participation in society. Our aim is to expand to the global market, training educators around the world and providing ready-to-use programs for schools and other actors working with young people and emerging adults. By 2024, the program has attracted international interest and collaboration with multiple organizations has begun.

Implementation steps

Order MARKED with Purpose license

Register your school or organization for the program by sending the number of participants to info@markedwithpurpose.com. You will receive licenses for the MARKED Educator training and the MARKED with Purpose materials.

Become a MARKED Educator

Go through the Educator training in teams to strengthen your skills in youth engagement and enhancing social-emotional skills. Begin the MARKED with Purpose sessions with the young people.

Give young people opportunity to act in their community

Share the codes for the MARKED app to the students to support the program. Plan and execute an action as the program's final project, combining the participants' strengths, interests, and life stories. This action should benefit others, reinforcing a sense of purpose. Get ready to act together!

Celebrate the learning journey together!

Celebrate and showcase the completed action in the MARKED app. Upon successfully completing the program, each participant will be awarded an official MARKED with Purpose certificate, celebrating their strengthened social-emotional skills and ability for making a meaningful change. This certificate can be used as part of a resume.

Plan a new deed together!

Strengthen the sense of purpose by continuing to do good deeds together and encouraging others to take action as well. Through the Educator program, educators receive practical tools to sustain active youth engagement.
