Nyajuok William Deng was selected to the Youth Ambassador Programme in 2024 from over 1100 applicants. Living in Kakuma Refugee Camp, Kenya, she had seen her friends become victims of early pregnancy, forced to drop out of school and lose the futures they deserved. During the programme, she realised that worrying about social injustice was not enough - you also need to act. Three months later, she founded MILES (Mothers in Learning, Empowerment and Support) a programme addressing quality education, wellbeing, and gender equity for teenage mothers.
Nyajuok’s story is not an exception. The Youth Ambassador Programme is a three-month online programme for young people aged 13–19, built around weekly workshops, mentorship, and a private learning platform. Participants not only learn about social change, they get the opportunity to ideate, plan and build a social impact project of their own linked to the UN Sustainable Developmental Goals.
Since 2023, the programme has reached 1,800 young people from 139 countries. Each session includes over 40 interactive online workshops and discussions led by education innovators from the HundrED community and Youth Ambassador alumni, covering social entrepreneurship, public speaking, intercultural dialogue, and leadership.

At the end of the Youth Ambassador cohort over 60% of the participants are planning, establishing, or scaling their own social impact projects. The topics vary from installing solar panels in Ukrainian schools to compensate for the damaged power grid, to connecting graduate level mentors with middle-school girls in Afghanistan to continue their education. Dozens of projects have been developed into apps and websites, community events, social media campaigns, and other impactful youth-driven activities.
In their own words
"It boosted my confidence, curiosity, and commitment to changemaking. I especially enjoyed seeing how small ideas can grow into impactful projects through dedication and collaboration."
- Arnold C., Youth Ambassador, Liberia
"The Youth Ambassador Programme had a very positive influence on my child’s confidence, leadership skills, and sense of global responsibility. They became more comfortable expressing their ideas, collaborating with peers from different cultures, and taking initiative on projects they care about."
- Neelam Malhotra, parent of a Youth Ambassador, India
Become a partner for the next cohort
We're looking for partners to support the programme. Without funding, the next cohort, young people who are already lining up, is at risk of not happening at all.
We are a match if you too believe that young people don't need to wait until adulthood to change the world. We have a proven methodology, platform and increasing demand. Our last round of applications attracted over 1,700 applications, the biggest group since the start of the program. The only thing missing is the funding to open the doors again.
“Cohort after cohort, the Youth Ambassador Programme keeps proving: young people are creating change already today, and they need our support to continue doing so. With the right platform and opportunities, not only can young people thrive, but their communities can, too", says Anna Paula Herrera, the coordinator of the HundrED Youth Ambassador Programme
If your organisation invests in youth, education, or global equity, we'd love to talk. Reach out to sales@hundred.org to learn more about partnership opportunities.
