Can you believe it’s been six weeks since we gathered at the HundrED Innovation summit in Helsinki? We still find ourselves reminiscing about all the international connections, the memorable moments, and the friendships forged. It was breathtaking to have so many education forerunners in one place.

As 2018 comes to a close, what better time to reflect on the feedback from our biggest event of the year?

We captured some interesting feedback from the big event. Here are some of the highlights…
 

Nearly 96% of attendees would be willing to help the HundrED community in their area of expertise and/or region

Now, that is a staggering percentage! But it’s not just a figure on the page. Since November we’ve seen connections and collaborative efforts springing up around the globe.

Here are just a few examples of the incredible collaborations that have sprung from this year’s summit…  

Pero Sardzoski, creator of Digital Literacy for EFL (Macedonia), along with Ambassador Alex Bell from UK, attended the Yidan Prize Summit in Hong kong which they were invited to at the HundrED Innovation Summit by Mabel Woo from Yidan Prize Foundation.

The City Education Council reached out to Chris William from Chatta (UK) for a possible partnership and implementation of his innovation in schools across Helsinki.

Riku Alkio, founder of Seppo (Finland), is now working with schools in London to facilitate implementation of his innovation.

Ambassadors Argy Nestor and Lindsay S Pinchbeck (USA), Alex Bell (England), and Megha Bhagat (India) are collaborating across three continents. They’re also making plans for working in a fourth, to amplify student voice and agency, as well as visual and performing arts, in Malawi. Alex is now working with Big Education to host the first ever HundrED Glocal event on Choices & Voices in London.

Academy Member John Galloway is working with HundrED to organize a TeachMeet on Inclusion & Diversity for March 2019. More information to come!

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. We know there’s an abundance of community members coming together to share inspiring innovations in education – empowering their local community to foster an inclusive, collaborative movement for innovation in education. 100% of respondents see HundrED as a useful partner in education

Many summit attendees said they appreciated us for staying a not-for-profit and providing our services for free. This means a lot to us and has helped to renew our commitment to remaining not-for-profit and offering our support and insights for the benefit of the global education community.  

85% of participants would like to attend the HundrED Summit next year

A whopping 85% of attendees would like to return to the HundrED Summit next year! Need a reminder of why Helsinki is the place to be? Didn’t make it this year, or craving a refresher of the exciting things that happened there? You can now find all of the summit videos on our Youtube channel.

Next year, we’ll congregate once more for Helsinki Education Week and the HundrED Innovation Summit 2019! So be sure to get November 4th-8th in your diary, and watch out for updates next year.
