Connecting to Nature through Art

What we do?

We help adults connect children to nature through art. In the process we embrace simple solutions and offer unique perspectives towards Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Why The Need To Connect To Nature?

In the early 1980s, a biologist Edward O. Wilson proposed a theory called biophilia: that humans are instinctively drawn towards their natural surroundings. However, with shrinking open spaces, deforestation, excessive use of gadgets etc. we are keeping children away from nature. Hence, we are all loosing connect with nature and all things natural. As children grow, they are becoming indifferent towards conserving and protecting the environment. Children and adults need to remain connected to nature simply because by harming nature we harm ourselves.

How Should We Connect With Nature?

In our busy lives, we seem to take many crucial things like clean environment for granted. More and more each day, the connection between us and our planet earth drifts further and further apart. Not only does nature provide us with everything we need to survive, it also provides us with inspiration for art. There are various ways to connect/re-connect with nature. Art can be a great medium. All art forms and works are inspired from nature. So, art forms and it’s interfaces with nature can be very effective in the context of raising awareness about environmental issues, conservation and sustainability.

Why Through Art?

The beauty of art is that it appeals to everyone and can be comprehended by anybody, including children. The very act of connecting with nature can become joyful when we engage through art. Also, because the process of creating art in itself is therapeutic it has a positive impact on health and overall well-being of both adult and children.
