Coolplus Education

For Teachers. For Change. For Joy.

High-stakes testing, overly prescriptive curricula, and poor resourcing have stripped teachers of the joy that makes them powerful change makers. That’s why we make teaching tools to spark curiosity, creativity and purpose, because education is bigger than just academic outcomes. Coolplus creates ready-to-go teaching resources, professional learning and an AI lesson builder teachers trust.

Target group
A shift from survival to sustainability in teaching and in the world our students are inheriting. I want classrooms where teachers feel confident teaching complex, real-world issues, especially climate change, sustainability and First Nations perspectives, with care, cultural respect and depth.

About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

I created CoolPlus because I could see the gap and I couldn’t unsee it.

I’d spent years listening to teachers. Watching brilliant, caring professionals burn out under the weight of impossible expectations, constant change, and tools that promised help but delivered more noise. I knew the problem wasn’t teachers. It was a system that kept asking more while giving less time, less trust, and less joy.

I created it to give educators their time back.
To offer resources they could actually trust.
To prove that technology, including AI, could be ethical, teacher-led, and grounded in real pedagogy, not shortcuts or hype.

I also built CoolPlus to help teachers confidently teach the trickier, more complex parts of the curriculum, climate change, sustainability, and First Nations perspectives. These topics matter deeply, but they’re often the hardest to navigate alone. CoolPlus exists to support teachers with thoughtful, culturally respectful, curriculum-aligned resources that help them teach these areas with confidence, care and integrity.

CoolPlus exists because I believe education should feel hopeful, not exhausting.
Because I believe teachers are professionals whose judgement matters.
Because I believe learning should connect to the real world, spark curiosity, and help young people make sense of the world they’re inheriting.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

In practice, it looks like teachers opening a tool and trusting it straight away. The lesson makes sense. It’s curriculum-aligned. It respects their professional judgement. It doesn’t need fixing, rewriting or second-guessing at 10pm.

It looks like ethical, teacher-led AI that adapts lessons thoughtfully — not replacing teachers, but working alongside them. AI that explains why a strategy works, surfaces the pedagogy underneath, and helps teachers differentiate without adding to their workload.

It looks like confidence. Confidence to teach complex, sensitive topics like climate change, sustainability and First Nations perspectives with care, cultural respect and accuracy — knowing the content has been developed with experts, communities and classroom realities in mind.

How has it been spreading?

Teachers come because the resources are genuinely usable, curriculum-aligned and grounded in real classrooms, and they stay because they feel respected, not sold to.

It’s been taken up in schools that are often hardest to support, complex contexts, time-poor environments, regional and low-ICSEA communities — because that’s where practical, high-quality support matters most.

It’s also spread through partnerships, with educators, schools, and purpose-led organisations who care deeply about teaching tricky, real-world topics well. Each partnership has helped the work reach new classrooms, new communities and new conversations.

And increasingly, it’s spreading because teachers are hungry for a better way to engage with technology and AI, one that’s ethical, transparent and teacher-led. They’re choosing tools that align with their values, not just their workload.

How have you modified or added to your innovation?

We just added an AI lesson builder that is based on our innovative pedagogical models

If I want to try it, what should I do?

Implementation steps

First, they start with something they already need.
A lesson they have to teach next week. A topic they’re unsure about. A class that needs differentiation. They don’t begin with the tool. They begin with their classroom reality.
Next, they choose or create a lesson they can trust.
They either select a ready-to-use, human-made resource or use the AI lesson builder to generate a curriculum-aligned starting point. The emphasis is on quality, clarity and alignment, not perfection
After that, they teach with confidence.
They walk into the classroom knowing the content is sound, culturally respectful and appropriate, including for complex topics like climate change, sustainability and First Nations perspectives. They are free to focus on their students, not the resource.
Finally, they reflect and reuse.
They tweak what worked, save time next lesson, and return to the tool when they need it again. Over time, it becomes part of their planning rhythm rather than something extra.
