Eco feed organic stockfeed

place Zimbabwe

Driving towards green and safe agriculture

Our stockfeed solves three main problems. Firstly the problem of biodegradable waste since the black soldier fly which decomposes organic matter and turns it into a natural fertiliser called frass. We also solved the problem of animal and human health. Our stockfeed made from BSFL maggots does not have any additives or preservatives and therefore does not affect the animals and the people who feed

Target group
A shift to environmental education and environmental awareness We wish the education teaches people more of green agriculture and change the way people see the world. Also a very deep emphasis on animal and plant health, also involving human health.

About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

We wanted to solve the problem of I'll animal and human health after consuming animal products and the issue of biodegradable waste. People have been suffering with multiple diseases that are caused by consuming genetically modified organisms or meat from animals that have been fed with artificial feed. We intend to make agriculture safe and healthy for everyone and every animal by producing a health stockfeed and fertilizer

What does your innovation look like in practice?

We have greenhouses where we breed the Black soldier fly larvae. We have solar dryers where we dry the larvae after harvesting
We have a pellet maker for pellets and a miller to make mash
We package the stockfeed as mash or pellets. We use special packaging and also deliver the stockfeed to people.

How has it been spreading?

We have been moving in farms educating people about it and also digitally advertising it.

How have you modified or added to your innovation?

We have added solar powered pumps and heat sensors in the greenhouses for temperature regulation.

If I want to try it, what should I do?

Implementation steps

Black soldier fly larvae stockfeed
Create greenhouse of any size
Put breeding bins which you fill with biodegradable waste materials
Maintain heat and moisture in the greenhouse
The BSFL will come naturally and also breeding happens naturally.
In the bins put breeding trays where the hatched larvae will go and be collected from
Also make sure you have solar dryers to dry the larvae
Pellet machines can be used to make pellets
Or a miller to make mash
