Target group
I hope to see that education can be extended beyond classrooms and can be more passion-driven than driven by exams and getting good grades. Building a project and making achievements out of it can be very satisfying and can bring a sense of self-accomplishment. I hope that this innovation can prepare more high school students for this so that they are intrigued and thus willing to engage in this.

About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

We created this innovation because we realized that we all have amazing project ideas to address social issues, but high school students often feel lost when trying to establish their projects, so we built this initiative to help students launch their own projects with the guidance of experts and the inspirations brought by their peers.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

This innovation is divided into 3 sections. One is for student leaders, who already have their own projects and plan to share their experiences and guide their peers throughout the conference. The second is for discussion members, who do not have a project currently but is willing to engage actively in seminars, workshops, and mentoring sessions, to get ready to launch their passion projects. The remaining group is audience members, who will only engage in seminars and workshops to receive inspirations.

How has it been spreading?

The conference has a prospective future, it has gained 70 participants in total in its first summer cohort, and it also has a board of experienced advisors to provide guidance both inside and outside of the school. Thus, with further expansion, the conference can expand to areas outside of the Beijing city, and can collaborate with similar SDG conferences to build global networks and reach a wider range of audiences.

If I want to try it, what should I do?

You can sign up via our official website https://www.keystonerisingleaders.com/. After signing up, participants are required to come to Beijing on 2025 7.1-7.2 for a two-day conference. You can either choose to be a day 'student', or a 'boarding' student.
