Traditional learning models with their standardised approaches still focus on a schooling paradigm well past its use-by date. The Elements recognise the critical role that learning within a positive community has and aims to develop lifelong autonomous learning capability. By authentically activating learner agency, any learner is better prepared for an ever-changing world.
The 21 elements are divided into three clusters. Each element offers strategies and inspiration for individuals and communities to reimagine themselves. The clusters consist of seven elements which provide the framework for preparing, implementing and sustaining change in any community.
‘Preparing the Community’ communicates how to deliberately shape a positive learning culture by establishing vision, values, purpose, positive relationships and mindsets. ‘Implementing the Model’, creates exceptional learning opportunities relevant to the 21st century. ‘Supporting and Sustaining the Community’ provides blueprints to challenge communities to reimagine, reinvent and reconstruct themselves to remain relevant in an increasingly agile world.
The Elements empower learning teams to make decisions unbound by the burden of standardised assessment. They enable learners to go deep into learning which aligns with their unique passions and inspires their own personal lifelong learning journey.
The Elements have been created to be freely used by all. Our Learnlife Alliance, a global tribe of learning innovators & leaders, provides access to the Elements to share, learn, discuss & shape a new learning paradigm. The Alliance’s mission is to connect & inspire the momentum to drive learning innovation by providing access to future-focused lifelong learning for all.
Our Learnhubs are lighthouses that empower communities by making a new paradigm experienceable. Learnhubs provide inspiration to re-think education & catalyse change. We operate two physical Learnhubs in Barcelona & an online Home Hub that connects learners from around the world. The Elements have inspired change in Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Hungary, Brazil and Australia and continue to spread across the globe.
