What is the folder about?
When children have a copy of My Languages, they become in charge of their language learning process. The folder is a constantly changing document that portrays the child's language learning.
Teachers can use this folder in many ways. The activity book can be used during lessons, but there is no fixed way of using it. It is up to the teacher to decide how to use it to promote language learning. Children who want to be challenged more or start learning a new language can also do all the activities.

Why we do it?
Too long teaching methods, strictly followed by the teacher have been the standard within foreign language education. It is time to change this a bit. The portfolio can travel with children for about 3 years. It becomes a beautiful decorated document that shows their progress.
It is flexible in use and gives a child autonomy in his or her learning. It enables differentiation, children with any level can fill the pages!
The first couple of pages are designed specifically to be able to use the portfolio for immigrant children, who can start learning a new language upon arrival and at the same time can reflect on their current situation.

Just recently the German version of the portfolio: "Meine Sprachen, ein mehrsprachiges Portfolio" has been published.
