Through this innovation, we hope to see education become more inclusive, practical, and purpose-driven. Our aim is to shift learning beyond textbooks to real-life skills such as digital literacy, leadership, critical thinking, and SDG awareness, making quality education accessible to every student regardless of economic background.

About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

We created ₹1 Sankalpa to break the myth that quality education and future-ready skills must be expensive or inaccessible. Growing up, we saw talented students being left behind simply because they lacked access to digital literacy, exposure, and guidance. ₹1 Sankalpa was designed as a symbolic yet powerful model where affordability removes fear, participation builds confidence, and learning creates real opportunity. Powered by the Youth Digital Literacy Foundation, the initiative ensures that no young person is excluded due to financial barriers, while also fostering responsibility, commitment, and belief that even a single rupee can spark meaningful change.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

In practice, ₹1 Sankalpa functions as a simple, scalable, and high-impact learning model where students participate in skill-based workshops and training sessions by contributing a symbolic amount of one rupee. Powered by the Youth Digital Literacy Foundation, the initiative delivers structured sessions on digital literacy, leadership, critical thinking, public speaking, SDGs, and future-ready skills through schools, youth forums, and events. Participants receive hands-on learning, mentorship, and certification upon completion, while institutions host the program as a low-barrier, high-value intervention. The model emphasizes inclusion, accountability, and real-world application, proving that meaningful education can be accessible, dignified, and transformative even at the smallest cost.

How has it been spreading?

It has been spreading organically through school collaborations, youth-led events, and peer-to-peer outreach, and has already reached over 2,000+ youth, with participation continuing to grow through workshops, conferences, and on-ground programs powered by YDLF.

If I want to try it, what should I do?

If you want to try it, you can partner with YDLF or invite the ₹1 Sankalpa model to your school, institution, or youth event by reaching out to our team. The process is simple: the institution adopts the ₹1 Sankalpa pledge, YDLF conducts impact-driven workshops on digital literacy, SDGs, leadership, and communication, and the collected contribution is transparently channelled into expanding digital access and skill-building for underserved youth. You can also participate as a volunteer, youth ambassador, or collaborator to help implement the model and scale its impact in your community.

Implementation steps

School Identification and Outreach
Our executive team identifies schools that cater primarily to underprivileged youth and initiates direct outreach with the school leadership. The innovation is presented as a structured, impact-driven model focused on digital literacy, youth leadership, and sustainable development.
Collaboration and Alignment
Once interest is established, YDLF enters into a formal collaboration with the school. This stage includes aligning objectives, defining roles, and tailoring the innovation to the specific needs of the students and the institution.
Offline Implementation and Workshops
YDLF then conducts on-ground, offline sessions within the school premises. These include interactive workshops on digital skills, SDGs, leadership, critical thinking, and responsible technology use, ensuring inclusive and practical learning.
Student Engagement and Continuity
Students actively participate in the sessions, receive mentorship, and are guided towards further opportunities such as advanced workshops, youth initiatives, and community-driven projects powered by YDLF, enabling long-term educational and social impact.
Certification and Recognition
Upon successful participation and completion of the programme, students are awarded official certificates issued by the Youth Digital Literacy Foundation. These certifications serve as credible recognition of their skills, learning outcomes, and engagement, supporting their academic profiles and future career opportunities.
