Arthyq

Your first step into the stock market.

Aarthyq (आर्थिक) means "Economic" in languages such as Hindi, Sanskrit and Nepali. Arthyq is a live NEPSE-based stock market simulator built to fix Nepal’s financial literacy gap. Most people enter the market blindly and learn only after losing real money; Arthyq flips that by letting users practice investing, analyze real market data, and make mistakes safely in a realistic trading environment. Through Arthyq, I hope education shifts from memorizing theory to learning through real experience. Students should be able to practice, make mistakes safely, and understand how concepts work in real life. By using realistic simulations, Arthyq encourages confidence, critical thinking, and practical skills before real money or real consequences are involved.

About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

I created Arthyq because I saw people around me enter the stock market without understanding how it actually works, often learning only after losing real money. Financial literacy in Nepal is mostly theoretical or inaccessible, and there was no safe way for beginners to practice using real market data. Arthyq was built to bridge that gap by letting users learn, experiment, and make mistakes without financial risk, so investing becomes a skill learned through experience rather than loss.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

In practice, Arthyq works as a simple, interactive web platform where users learn investing by actually doing it. Users start with virtual credits and trade stocks using live NEPSE market data, just like on a real trading platform, but without any financial risk. Alongside trading, they can explore market summaries, analyze price movements, and test their understanding through short quizzes and game-based challenges. Instead of passively reading about investing, users actively practice decision-making, see the consequences of their choices, and gradually build confidence before entering the real market.

How has it been spreading?

Arthyq has been spreading mainly through direct use and word of mouth. It has been showcased in school exhibitions and demonstrations, where students, teachers, and visitors try the platform themselves and share it with others. Feedback from these users has helped improve the platform, and interest naturally grows as people recommend it to friends who want to understand the stock market without risk. There's an upcoming famous and selective coding exhibition in Nepal, happening on 14th Feb, and Arthyq is being demonstrated there as well!

How have you modified or added to your innovation?

Arthyq has evolved massively from its initial stage through user feedback and continuous testing. It's been updated more than 100 times to minimize the fetching time of the data, make the market summaries cleaner, and gamify the trading experience through quizzes and chart games. Every update has also made Arthyq more accessible to users, offering light mode/dark mode, different text sizes, and an option to switch between Nepali and English, whichever language the users are most comfortable with! The interface was refined to be simpler and more intuitive, especially for first-time users. Each update has focused on making the experience more realistic, easier to understand, and more effective as a learning tool.

If I want to try it, what should I do?

Using Arthyq is easiest as can be! Just type arthyq.com in your web browser, and you will be directed to the platform. If incase that link isn't working, the alternate domain is: arthyq.netlify.app. You can begin immediately with virtual credits, trade stocks using live NEPSE data, and explore market summaries and interactive games without creating any risk or spending real money. The platform is designed to be intuitive, so even first-time users can jump in, experiment, and learn by doing within minutes.

Implementation steps

Open the website
Go to your browser, type in arthyq.com or just type Arthyq and click on the first link you see!
Explore the dashboard
Once the website loads, take a moment to look around the home page. You will see market summaries, trending stocks, and basic information that helps you understand what is happening in the market today.
Start with virtual credits
Arthyq automatically gives you virtual credits. These credits act like real money but carry no risk, allowing you to learn freely without fear of loss.
Click on "Market"
In the navigation bar, you will see a section called Market. Click on it, a list of all stocks will be shown to you. You can sort them alphabetically, sector-wise, percent change-wise, and relative strength-wise. Once you choose a stock you want to invest in, click on Trade and enter the number of shares you want to buy (minimum is 10) . The stock will be added immediately to your portfolio.
Track your portfolio
After trading, visit your portfolio section to see how your decisions affect your balance and overall performance. It will show initial loss of 0.71% loss due to the broker fees, DP fees etc you have to pay (just like in real life!), but as the market moves, you'll be able to see whether you're in profit or loss.
Sell the stocks! (or don't)
If your stocks profited and you want to sell them for credits, do that. If you want to keep a hold of them for some more time, don't do anything. Your decision will impact your portfolio and will slowly but surely enhance your financial maturity, critical analysis and risk taking skills.
Test your understanding
Head to the playground section to take a short break from the numbers and take the quiz to test your knowledge about the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE). After that, play the chart trading game right below that to test your trader's intution. It works exactly the same as Bloomberg's "The trading game" but localized for Nepal, using past data of NEPSE.
Repeat and improve
Continue exploring, trading, and learning over time. The more you practice, the more confident and informed your decisions become.
