Target group
We would like to see students being empovered to become real changemakers. We focus on problem based learning and 21'st century skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, creativity etc. Students from different cultures and backgrounds meet, analyse real world problems together and create common solutions. By understanding each other and communicating together the Students get a solid basis for becoming Global Citizens that are oriented towards creating a future world more eqitable, sustainable and with respect for fundamental human rights. We are currently in more than 150 countries, and have more than 5000 teachers signed up. The goal is to impact 10 mio. students to become change makers before 2030. Collaboration with partners susch as UNICEF and Save the Children/LEGO will add to that mission.

About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

We are very interested in the cultural exchange between students from different countries.
Learning from each other while exploring real world problems through SDG's and Childrens Rights, Students build solutions using design thinking techniques. We want to create a new generation of Changemakers.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

Class2Class is a platform that can be acccessed freely by teachers around the world. They invite their students to collaborate with other classes around the world. The collaboration is focused on cultural exchange, discussion of Childrens Rights or Sustainability issues and building solutions together.
We are currently working with partners such as Save the Children/LEGO on their Build the Change programme and UNICEF on the Class Charter - Childs Rights programme.

How has it been spreading?

We have started by having teachers signing up on the platform and connect to other teachers around the world. Teachers invite their students who collaborate with other students building solutions in close, safe teacher controlled spaces. We continue onboaring teachers but now we want to engage schools and teachers through partnership agreements with organizations such as UNICEF, Save the Children/LEGO foundation.

How have you modified or added to your innovation?

We started out by leveraging technology to bring teachers and student together online across different continents and timezones. The core principles are evolving around cultural exchange, problem discussion based on the principle of 'from local to global' and making solutions to real world problems based on design thinking methodology.
We are operating with a project model that comes into 4 phases: project creation, implementation, reflection and sharing. Recently we have added and are still working on how to use AI for generating context based project flows, effective implementation/engagement and sharing of results and learnings. We are also working on how we can help teachers measure the impact of the learning process.

If I want to try it, what should I do?
