About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

This platform provides child‑friendly, repetition‑based games and parent guidance, helping children learn while giving parents tools to support development at home.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

Heroes of 21 is a digital platform where children with Down syndrome engage in interactive, gamified educational activities at home. Each activity uses simple visuals, repetition, and immediate feedback, allowing children to learn at their own pace.
Parents follow structured learning paths alongside their children, receiving guidance on how to support each game and reinforce skills in language, math, and motor development.
The platform tracks progress, highlights mastered skills, and provides practical tips for continued learning at home.
For example, a child might play a matching game for shapes and colors while the parent reinforces concepts with verbal prompts or hands-on exercises.
This combination of child-friendly interaction and parent support makes learning engaging, inclusive, and effective, even without professional educators.

Early sharing has been through parent networks, social media, and local educational communities, with positive feedback on home-based learning support.
Plans for expansion include international outreach, collaborations with inclusive education organizations, and platform submissions like HundrED and Common Sense to increase visibility and impact globally.

How have you modified or added to your innovation?

Since launching heroes of 21 we have made improvements based on early feedback from parents. We simplified navigation for children, added structured learning paths for parents, and enhanced visual and audio cues to better engage learners with different needs.
