I created this innovation to bridge the gap between traditional academic learning and the psychological resilience needed for future leadership. Observing the disconnect and disengagement in standard educational settings, I sought to build a framework where students don't just "study" but embark on a "Hero Quest." By integrating the gameful mechanics of SuperBetter with visual arts, I wanted to provide a toolkit for students to master their emotions and lead with creativity. My vision is to turn every classroom into a sanctuary of growth and every student into a resilient leader.
In practice, this looks like the Saturday Hero Quest. Students at Stellbridge International School engage in "Heroic Acts" where they use artistic crafts to visualize leadership concepts. It’s a multi-sensory experience: we use visual art grids to track progress, interactive "missions" that build social skills, and gameful challenges that turn school hurdles into winnable quests. It transforms the physical environment—like our school "HQ"—into a dynamic space where learning is an adventure, not a chore.
The innovation began as a focused pilot at Stellbridge International School in early 2026. It has gained rapid traction through a strategic digital presence on Twitter and Quora, catching the attention of global experts like Keith Wakeman (CEO of SuperBetter). We utilize high-energy video content and social media storytelling to showcase real-time student transformations. This synergy has moved the project from a local classroom idea toward a scalable model attracting interest from international educational collaborators.
We have evolved the model by integrating a "Global CEO" mindset into the student curriculum. A major addition is the "Dreamscape" ecosystem, which plans to move beyond the classroom into natural landscapes, using tourism and environmental art as leadership training tools. We’ve also enhanced the methodology by incorporating professional-grade visual storytelling (such as film-making and visual art grids) to help students "document" their own resilience journeys.
Start by adopting the "Hero Quest" mindset: identify a challenge as a "Quest" and use visual arts to map out the "Power-Ups" (strengths) needed to overcome it. You can follow our journey at Stellbridge International or connect with us via Layering Expressions. We are open to schools worldwide—especially in the UK and US—who want to pilot our "Saturday Hero Quest" framework.
