Target group
We want learners with dyslexia to participate more independently in everyday reading and writing, without a difficult text or unfinished draft stopping them from showing what they know. Our aim is support that makes corrections understandable and AI answers checkable against their source. We want to work with educators, accessibility specialists and researchers to measure task completion, understanding and the amount of help learners need. These are goals for future evaluation, not claims of proven learning gains.

About the innovation

Why did you create this innovation?

Dyslexia can turn a study document, an email or an unfinished draft into a barrier to participation. SkrivSikkert was created to make everyday reading and writing more manageable, with practical support that lets people understand suggestions and decide what to do next. Creator Stefan Hühne received Ordblindeprisen 2023 from the Danish Dyslexia Association for creating SkrivSikkert.

What does your innovation look like in practice?

A learner can review spelling, grammar and wording suggestions with explanations, or listen to a draft. When working with a PDF or Word document, they can ask a question and jump to the highlighted source passage behind the answer. PDF translation preserves the layout. The web app and Chrome extension bring these tools into everyday reading and writing. Users choose which suggestions to apply; educators should set appropriate rules for AI use in their setting.

How has it been spreading?

SkrivSikkert is available online to individuals and institutions, with a Chrome extension for support on websites. The company reports approximately 30,000 monthly users across the platform; this is not a count of students or paying customers. The product began around 2023 and is operated by SkrivSikkert ApS in Denmark. We are seeking education and accessibility partners to evaluate learning outcomes and responsible adoption.

If I want to try it, what should I do?

Visit https://skrivsikkert.dk/en/dyslexia-writing-help/ to explore the tools and start with 20,000 free words. Paid plans are available for continued use. Try a short text or a document you have permission to use, inspect the explanations and source passages, and decide which changes help. Implementation steps

Start with one real reading or writing task
Open skrivsikkert.dk/en/dyslexia-writing-help/ and create an account. Choose a short draft or a document you have permission to use. Begin with one concrete task, such as improving a paragraph or finding an answer in a course document. The starting allowance is 20,000 free words; check the available plans before continued use.
Inspect the explanation or original source
For writing, read the explanation for a suggested correction and use read-aloud support when helpful. For a PDF or Word document, ask a specific question and open the highlighted passage behind the answer. Compare the answer with the original text. In a course or assessment, follow the educator’s rules for AI assistance.
Choose the useful changes and finish the task
Apply only suggestions that preserve your intended meaning. Re-read or listen to the result, then finish the draft or answer in your own workflow. Note any points that still need a teacher, colleague or specialist. Institutions can contact kontakt@skrivsikkert.dk to discuss a suitable trial and evaluation.
