The CS-STEM Network

A Digital Badging Learning Management System that delivers free Robotics CS-STEM curriculum to allow students to build Digital Portfolios.

The CS-STEM Network offers free robotics curriculum that educators can use to teach students computational thinking concepts. As students work through the activities, they provide evidence in the form of code, photos, videos, drawings, etc. to attach to their certificate. Upon sharing certificates, students can also show future employers real evidence of their work along with the certification.

As a self-taught computer science and robotics teacher, CS2N is the perfect place for me to gain tangible practical experience and training in curriculum and instruction to support my students. I love the organization of the site and the way units are mapped out to scaffold in difficult as you gain knowledge in computational thinking skills. The support offered by the Carnegie Mellon Robotics Academy as part of taking courses on CS2N is exceptional! Now that I am a LEGO EV3 Certified Educator, I love that I have the chance to help my students earn their own digital badges and certifications as well.

About the innovation

Track progress of your students while teaching STEM and Robotics

The CS-STEM Network allows teachers to offer robotics curriculum using popular robotics systems like the LEGO MINDSTORMS, VEX IQ, or VEX EDR CORTEX (VEX EDR V5 coming this year!).

As a teacher, you have the ability to invite students (or generate students accounts if they do not have email addresses) and track their progress as they work their way through the lessons.

Feel free to take a look through the curriculum offerings at www.cs2n.org/curriculum and start using the courses in your classroom!
