My mate Chinmay and I are high schoolers. We experience the issues within coding education firsthand and took it upon ourselves to fix them. The jump from block to text coding is too steep causing students to get disengaged, pressuring teachers. This is a global issue since most primary/secondary school curriculums mandate coding education. Moreover, with tech industries (notably AI) on the rise, we knew that knowing how to code was becoming a life skill. We wanted all youth to have access to digital skills and employment opportunities which is why we built an offline, affordable coding program. With Thadus, the transition from block to text coding is seamless, keeping youth engaged and making them future ready.
Customers (individual students, families, robotics class providers, schools, governments, etc.) subscribe to our program monthly for three months. At the start of the program, they receive the installer for the Thadus app which can be downloaded only on devices for which access has been purchased. At the start of every month, customers receive the course for that month. Our 3 courses are Computational Thinking, Algorithms & Sequencing and Data Science. We provide them as printable PDFs to encourage handwriting which also helps balance screen time. The courses progressively increase in difficulty and include computational problems where students write code on Thadus alongside written responses. Throughout the program, students justify their reasoning, analyse data, and apply predictive analysis. Although we recommend our program for students in grades 5 to 9 (where this transition generally occurs), we welcome customers from all backgrounds!
Since January 2026, more than 600 paying students have subscribed to our program across several nations. These include individual students/families and school students whose enrollments are paid by their organizations. We charge subsidized fees for rural schools to help bridge the digital divide while providing our program for free to charities. Currently, we have partnered with the Foundation of Goodness (FOG) and Educate 4.0 charities in Sri Lanka and South Africa respectively where thousands of underserved youth are on our program.
We have a thorough feedback process where customers evaluate not only the Thadus app and courses but our onboarding process and general customer service. This feedback informs software updates and stronger client relationships.
